F.A.Q.

If your questions are not answered here, please contact me and I am happy to answer them.

I am not in-network with any insruance providers. If you have out-of-network coverage, I can provide you with a superbill which you submit to your insurance providers for reimbursement.

If you have an HSA or FSA account/card I can accept those as payments.

I have a limited number of sliding scale spots for those who cannot afford the full fee. During our consultation we can discuss this.

Under certain circumstances I can and will provide a diagnosis, for instance, if you are using out of network insurance benefits, I have to provide a diagnosis. Otherwise, my focus is more on helping rather than diagnosing.

I work with clients as young as 7 years old all the way across the lifespan, while I often find myself working with tweens (8-12) and young adults (25-35). I believe I am a better therapist when my clients are not all in the same age range as I thrive in environments when I get to be creative and work with folks with different life experiences.

I have been trained in play therapy and other modalities for working with children, as well as the typical therapeutic modalities for working with adults,.

I am currently accepting clients in person and virtually Mondays through Thursdays from 10 am to 5 pm. I typically save my virtual sessions for earlier in the day so after school spots are available for those in school.

When working with those under 18, I do an initial caregiver intake session with the caregiver(s) to hear what is leading them to want to bring their child to therapy, talk about relevant history, and goals. From there I will see the child individually and I will check-in with caregivers typically every 6 weeks.

For adults, I will do an initial intake session to cover their reasons for coming to therapy, relevant history, and talk about goals. From there, I believe in letting the client lead, I will provide space for you to use our time how you best see fit. If I think you are a good candidate for something specific like EMDR I will offer that and you get to decide if you’d like to participate or not.

I believe I am working for my clients, not the other way around, so I empower my clients to make choices as to how we spend our time together. Many people need time to get to know me and prefer to take things slow and for this reason I will not pressure anyone to talk about anything they are not ready to talk about or process.
